Leadership and Training Experiences

Sir Richard Branson & Virgin Unite Leadership Program
Selected and sent over to spend time with world’s most renowned entrepreneur, Sir Richard himself at his magnificent home on Necker Island, in the British Virgin Islands, Emeli attended the Virgin Unite Leadership Gatherings. Bringing together a united community of responsible, ethical businesses that contribute their resources, time and connections in developing entrepreneurial ideas that reinvent how we live and work that benefit people and our planet. Discussions on highly topical social and ethical issues facing the business and philanthropic worlds, inspired by some wonderful speakers. The mornings are spent in interactive sessions with speakers with the afternoons free to enjoy all the island has to offer. Virgin Unite Leadership Gatherings are great opportunities to join forces to use entrepreneurial approaches to reinvent the world. Emeli spend time with her sHero – Brene Brown, The Power of Vulnerability researcher and speaker that resulted in a future training offer.

School For Social Entrepreneurs
This 12 month programme supports people with the beginnings of an organisation that could improve a community or tackle a social issue – people passionate about helping other people or the environment.
The Start Up programme helps you develop your plans into a sustainable organisation with a clear vision for creating social impact. Collective Potential success was reached using the skills learnt from this program. Skills such as suitable legal structure, make money and develop business model, manage finances, develop impact and purpose, keep a work/life balance, build networks, do marketing and social media plans and build confidence in leadership skills

The School for Social Entrepreneurs Action Learning Facilitator Training Programme gives the skills to help bring powerful learning practices and problem-solving approaches to benefit individuals across corporate, public and third sector organisations. The basic philosophy underpinning action learning is that the most effective learning takes places when we are faced with a real problem that we are obliged to solve. It is practical, experiential and relevant to anyone who wants to add to their portfolio of tools and approaches or wanting to refresh their professional practice.

The Reach Foundation Leadership Program
The Reach Foundation was established in 1994 by co-founders, Jim Stynes OAM (AFL Brownlow Medallist, youth motivator, and Victorian of the Year 2003) and Australian film director, Paul Currie. Emeli was mentored by these two men who had a vision – to inspire young people to believe in themselves and get the most out of life. Combining Jim’s qualities of determination and resilience, and skills as speaker, with Paul’s experience as an acting coach, and techniques to connect with the ‘human condition’, Reach was created. The first workshops were run wherever they could find a space – sometimes in old warehouses or abandoned office spaces. Emeli supported Reach to grow beyond Jim and Paul’s wildest dreams. Helping to scale up over a 5 year period with offices in Melbourne, Sydney and the Hunter Region. Emeli would co lead the organisation and train youth facilitators to work with 30,000 teenagers participating in workshops each year. Roles over at 18 year period include:

  • Cultural Advisory Board Member
